Our mission

Now Prototype It’s mission is to provide a free, seamless web prototyping experience tailored to your design system, fully open-source and fully supported.

Our story

NPI started as a fork of the GOV.UK Prototype Kit, an open-source web prototyping tool for GOV.UK teams. The GOV.UK kit uses some really helpful tools to make prototyping easier for people of all skill levels.

NPI’s founder Natalie was GOV.UK's Tech Lead for the original GOV.UK Prototype Kit. She founded NPI to expand upon the work done by GOV.UK, and to make it suitable for a wider range of government departments and any organisation.

We build with public sector organisations in mind, but anyone can use our tools and services. If you need high-fidelity, interactive prototypes that integrate with an existing design system, NPI is a great option for you!
